To my husband, on our second anniversary

One day, we will have a normal anniversary. Last year, we spent it camping with my family. You woke me up by deflating the air mattress and we made pancakes and bacon for the whole extended family, because Mom voluteered to make breakfast but then wasn't feeling well. I took a picture of you wearing a silly hat and posted it on my blog.

This year, I'm two provinces away from you, winding up a three week vacation. This is the longest I've been away from you since we were married, and we actually decided to arrange the trip to go past our annivesary because it was the cheapest flight of the week by $100. And for us, saving $100 is like the best annivesary present ever.

Thank you for keeping me alive and scurvy-free through grad school, for killing any spider that gets in my way, for making me even nerdier (and more self-confident) than I ever was before, for listening to all my meandering stories (even when I tell them more than once), for being the Royal Consort of West Procrastination to my Queen, for drinking tea with me whenever I ask you to, and for being my best friend in the whole world. I still can't believe I found someone like you.

From your wife

This is a very touching post.

Happy Anniversary!

Also, I would guess that there is no "normal," but only whatever is typical for a couple, and it sounds like you have a lot of good times and lots of love between you two. Congratulations!
