Best. Day. Ever.

I swear, this day was made just for me. Meg and I just got our weekly fix of The Amazing Race, and what we've been hoping for since the beginning, but had become resigned to never happening, has happened. (If that makes sense.) Okay, okay, so I like this one reality TV show. It's not like I'm watching American Idol or something. Goodness no. But this season's been really disappointing, because they've had this married couple Jonathan and Victoria on, and they're really abusive and scary; you feel guilty for even watching the show (how can they show this stuff on television?). But they just kept not being Philiminated. And, finally, it happened today. In a really good episode, like the ones in older seasons. And, as the episode finished, Meg and I sat in a stunned silence. Because next week's episode isn't going to be uncomfortable with screechy yelling. This will be a watchable show again.

All this on a day when it went up to 1ÂșC.

I apologise for this meandering into reality television talk. We will now return to our regularly scheduled randomness.

Song Currently Stuck in My Head: "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," as sung by Marilyn Monroe. I can't help that; I've been reading this article that compares The Artificial Silk Girl with Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and it seems as if every quoted line from the latter book served as inspiration for the above-mentioned song. And so, a whole week of Marilyn Monroe in my head.

I am currently procrastinating from: putting the TV away. We keep our TV on a wheely cart, which we keep in the closet, in an attempt to waste less time. Unfortunately, that has just made me more creative with my procrastination. (But I'm getting to be a better cook, as a result!)

I am wearing: My black Chat Noir shirt, layered over the white long-sleeved shirt, and jeans, with slippers. I confess.

I am amused by: the effect created by putting a period after every word. You. Then. Sound. Like. Shatner.

I am thankful for: New wiper blades, roommates who watch silly tv shows and drink tea with me, the Pear Tree Green tea that my roommate bought me, and for warmer weather!

My kingdom for: that Bodum teapot I ordered more than a week ago (2 days' delivery, my eye!), and a good, sharp serrated knife. (I was spoiled by a house full of Cutco, and so I was having trouble cutting with Meg's Ikea knives tonight.)

Wow. This is quite a pace you're setting here. How in the world are you going to keep this up? I am enjoying it deliriously, though. By the way, is there a King of West Procrastination yet? ;) I think I could wear that crown. Bing bing!

Derek out.

For the last time, my knives are NOT from Ikea! I bought them at Stokes on sale, alright?

Ha! Keeping up any kind of pace? What do you take me for -- diligent? Ha! Well, the only hope that I'll continue on with this crazy pace is the fact that this blog is a tool for procrastination. Once I start procrastinating from updating it...
