You're a mean old daddy but I like you

Boxes arriving in the mail are usually a big event in the West Procrastination household. You can always tell when one has arrived, because Joyce runs a little when she comes down the stairs, and she doesn't just leave it in the mailbox, but knocks on the door. She usually waits around to see what we bought, too.

It doesn't happen very frequently -- we rarely order anything on the internet or anything -- but it's happened twice in the past month. First, we got the pizza stone that we ordered from Crazy Mommy, who's been selling Pampered Chef. It came in a huge box, with a little box inside it. Joyce was disappointed that there was so little in that box.

Today, our Amazon order arrived, right when I forgot to obsessively check to see if it had arrived yet. But we had ordered The Joy of Cooking (because I noticed how discounted it was, when I linked to it to tell you folks how much I was coveting it). And I decided to do something fun: I'd round out the order to get the free shipping. Chris and I each picked out something, to bring the order up to $39. I picked Joni Mitchell's Hits, and Chris picked Galaxy Quest on DVD.

It's like Christmas here now. We've already watched the movie (and -- ahem -- cheered loudly the whole way through, okay and now I'm uncontollably saying "By Grabthar's hammer..." in my best/worst Alan Rickman impression), and now we're listening to Joni Mitchell. We've gotten to "Raised on Robbery." And I'm already making plans for cooking from that cookbook. So good. That book has everything.

That's all. I'm just excited by getting packages in the mail. (And doorbells and sleighbells and schnitzel with noodles.)
