Speaking of the Long Weekend...

Would you believe that there are still people out there who believe that you shouldn't wear white shoes after Labour Day? Didn't that die out a long time ago?

In response I think I'm going to take to wearing only white, starting on Tuesday.

It does seem silly, doesn't it? Especially when it's still so hot in so many places. Still, I'm usually tired of white by the time Labor Day rolls around. Not to mention, most of my white shoes and handbags barely make it through the summer because they get scuffed and dingy so easily.

I think another thing is that Fall is the big fashion season. Most of us are willing to rush it, in order to start wearing some of that great stuff.

OTOH, Spring is pretty exciting, too. In fact, I'm way more apt to start wearing white too early, than to want to wear it for too long.:)

I bought some very exciting white slacks in August, and I don't think I'm ready to stow them in the closet yet!

Winter whites are my favourite.

Janny, I know they are. It's especially because of that white jacket that Daniel V made for his fashion week show on Project Runway.

I'm crazy about that coat! I was just thinking about it yesterday during the season 2 marathon.

I think global warming has changed that fashion rule.

(I don't own a pair of white shoes anyhow -- if I have to dress up in the summer, I have a pair of black sandals I wear -- but still, if I did own white shoes, I would certainly wear them after Labor Day.)

Yeah, you'd think so, and yet apparently there are still women who defend that rule adamently. Mostly Southerners.
