Post 500: And Readers Like You

In a year and almost two months, I've now posted five hundred times. Through the course of five hundred posts, you've witnessed the writing of a thesis, all the wedding plans and my wedding, several tragedies, a location change, a school change, and more procrastination and neuroses than you can shake a stick at.

I was trying to figure out how to mark this occasion, because it's the sort of thing that I do. I thought of different retrospectives, or an elegy to my former car, and now that I sit down in the sunny living room to a hot cup of tea and a Carol King record, all I can say is "Thank you."

Thank you, to all of you readers. Both to you who have stuck around since the beginning (mostly people I know in "real life"), and to those of you whom I've picked up along the way. To everyone who's listened, tolerated, given feedback, as I've stumbled through academia and everything else. You've been a spectacular support network, and you've made me laugh.

And now for something completely different: as requested by one of my regular readers, I give you a photo of Meshach Taylor. I don't know why, but I suspect maybe she's been watching some Designing Women, in addition to the eighteen million game shows she watches. (Spread the rumour: lynniec is really 65 years old!)

From Meshach and myself: thank you.

It is a pleasure to know the Queen of West Procrastination... and to follow along in the blogosphere... Yay for 500 posts - and the many more to come... A year ago it was your blog that made me most homesick for Regina... one key point: I love the randomness..

Don't you mean 65 years young?
I love you so much Mary. And I love the sparkle on Meshach's picture. I think that means he's squeaky clean. Or that he's in love. No, wait. The sparkle would have to be on his teeth or in his eyes for that. Maybe it means he's thinking of something special. Like 500 posts!

The sparkle on his picture is exactly why I chose it.

I think anonymous is mom or dad, probably dad. I checked you sitemeter and someone with an access communications account in Regina was the only one when the comment was posted.

I was thinking cramsey. Because he left a similar comment another time.

Wow, Janny. You're terribly creepy.

It's the joy of Sitemeter. You always get to know when people are visiting. Or, at least, from where and from what domain, and how long they stayed, and how many pageviews. I can see you right now, lynniec.

I'm creepy? I just like solving mysteries. Do you what is creepy? Squeezing the backs of t-shirts of quasi-famous people.
