Because I ought to be reading...

Aspiring Academic's comment on my last post got me Googling Joni Mitchell lyrics and I found http://jonimitchell.com. My goodness, is there ever so much cool stuff there. I was going through the lyrics section, and they've added a glossary, linked to different words in the songs, to explain the different references. Such as debates about whether the Mermaid Café (where I'll buy you a bottle of wine and we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down) really existed. And so much more. They also have a list of all the songs where she's contributed (such as semi-credited back-up vocals, along with James Taylor, in "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" on Tapestry). And all the songs written about her.

Why don't I own more Joni Mitchell music?

Must...read...Prussian...conservatism...

(All those ellipses were for the benefit of Ky.)

OMG! Thank you for this. I ::heart:: her so much!!!!

Those ellipses are permissible, because they served a creative purpose.

Ky just can't stand it... when the ellipses are used... improperly... and too often

Ooops... I use them a lot. Sorry. But at least I say a lot, and not alot.

So does she get one punch for every set of three, or one for each individual . ? Cause I think one for each is completely reasonable.

One for each it is!

p.s. I heart Mary!

Well, now I'm all intimidated by putting up a next post, because I just realised that it'll be post #500. And I feel like being profound or brilliant or something. When we all know I want to post about wearing pyjamas and eating cinnamon buns.

I think your 500th post should be a picture of Meshach Taylor.

Funny - When I was in S'toon last semester Derek and I went to a play about Joni Mitchell because his friend was in it. I hadn't even really known about her till then. It was.. interesting and pretty good... although not my normal style of play/art. Anyhow, just thought I should comment..

Hmm. Becca, since she posted this comment twice, gets 14 punches from me next time I see her. I don't know if that's fair.

Ky suddenly finds her job as Ellipses Enforcer to be much more difficult than she first imagined. (Dun dun DUN!)

Well, the pay's good. Of course, I only get paid in the currency of the satisfaction a punctuation stickler gets when a lesson is learned.
