That's right, after vitriolic rants against the evil empire that controls telephones over here, I have embraced Telus.
How could this be? After the constant errors, the overcharging, the "we have no evidence that we made a mistake," the service people showing up only on holidays, early mornings and Sundays, why should I decide that I love them?
Because they gave us a digital camera.
We'd heard about the promotion, for those who signed up for our type of internet account, after we moved here. I didn't want to make a fuss, assuming that the promotion began after we signed up. But, my beloved husband did more investigation, after he began learning about phone contracts at his new job. He discovered that, while the promotion began after we signed up, it was before we actually received internet service. And, as you may remember, they took two weeks to get us internet service.
And so Chris called Telus, and was first told that there was nothing they could do. Then, the lady called Chris back, and said she was looking into his case further. Today he got an e-mail from them, saying that the camera is in the mail.
And it's a good little camera, for being free.
Edited to add: I linked to the wrong camera. Now it's the right one.

Reminds me of Bell buying my forgiveness with an Oilers t-shirt. But you get a way cooler bribe. I'm glad Chris was persistant.
