Whee!

I heard back from the mechanic. After the replaced belt and the oil change I requested, everything's in good shape.

Well, except for the brakes. Those are 95% worn out, and you almost have metal touching metal.

On the down side: this is going to cost three times as much as we'd be anticipating. On the up side: the car won't be trying to kill us anymore (nice how all the things that wear out over time decided to go at once), and I should have the car back in time to go get Chris from the bus this afternoon!
