I know I use this phrase a lot...

...but today has all the makings of a "best day ever." I just finished one of my favourite novels, while sitting on a lawn chair in the backyard. I'm inside again, with the windows wide open. And now our neighbour has started practicing his bagpipes (and he's really good at it), while I watch some British real estate shows.

Sunshine, a good book, warm weather, good bagpipes, and Phil and Kirstie. That really is my idea of a good day.

May I ask which novel?

L.M. Montgomery's The Blue Castle, at least that day. I read it way too fast. (I was still too much in comps mode.) So, now I'm reading Emma very slowly.

Sounds like a great day.
