How the West Procrastination Household Spent its Thursday

Yes, that is a tea cozy on his head. Yes, he is pretending to be a bishop. Yes, we are watching So You Think You Can Dance at the same time.

Well you see, Chris was too poor to buy a proper toque when he was young. I think he has now developed an over active compensation mechanism and puts items on his head at random to test the performance as compared to a good ol' Saskatchewan toque. So the question that really needs to be asked is; will it keep your ears fastened to head in a blizzard or will you end up looking like a barn cat with no ears?

Father-in-law: would you believe that I made him put this tea cozy on his head? And that he pretended to protest, for about half a second? I was surprised, considering the fact that he wandered around the house with a geodesic dome on his head.

What do you think of this season of SYTYCD? I was so annoyed when "Sex" came back...he is so obnoxious. But, he wasn't as obnoxious as that Italian guy who always had his shirt open.

Lifex: I'm going to reserve judgement until we get to the actual competition and past the auditions. I'm not much for the auditions; I can't stand American Idol, and I tend to feel embarrassed for the bad dancers and tend to mute the delusional ones. Seriously, how much longer until we see choreographed routines?

I have enjoyed the fact that I've several times heard the compliment "You move as if you have no spine at all!"

Ha. I meant "History Enthusiast."

Maryanne,
I also thought of the geodesic dome incident when I saw this and even though I love this son of mine, in all seriousness, what self-respecting alien would want to read a mind like that...
Silliness must come from his father's side...

David,
It's a miracle isn't it?

why would a barn cat be missing her ears?

Anastasia,
In Saskatchewan people keep cats that live in their barns to keep down the rodent population. Barns are not heated and when it gets to -40 and lower sometimes the tips of the cat's ears would freeze. The tissue, of course, would die and fall off as the tissue underneath healed so the poor kitty was left with "clipped" ears. Severe frost bite like this can happen to people too if they do not cover their skin in cold weather particularly with wind-chill added to the cold temperatures. I remember when Chris was in his early teens and didn't want to wear a toque because it wasn't "cool" (look how far he's come! LOL), I used to tell him he'd look a lot less cool with no ears.
And in the summer here it gets so hot that some people have to cover their heads or they can get severe heat stroke. Lovely climate we have!!!
