Green is the colour

Chris and I are both wearing green to church today (granted, his green shirt is more sage and mine is kind of grassy green; neither shirt is quite neon-green-that-stabs-you-in-the-eye Roughrider green). Chris is sitting at his computer, playing different Rider songs. Our car has become this Saskatchewanian monstrosity, with Saskatchewan plates, Roughrider front plate, and flappy green flags. I may have taunted my BC-born students on Thursday about the fact that we were going to the Grey Cup.*

Our (hopefully) celebration supper** is already started in the crockpot, and I think we're going to be eating some variation on nachos for lunch.

I don't even recognise myself anymore. At least I haven't suddenly found myself a season ticket holder, unlike some people I know.

(Note to Ariann: Chris just found a video clip of Taiwanese schoolchildren singing "Green is the colour." Are you or any of your family members involved in this? Update: actually, it turns out that Alec Couros made this video. Janny is thrilled in 3...2...)

* Fun/Depressing Fact: the Saskatchewan Roughriders last won the Grey Cup in the same month that the Berlin Wall came down. It was a big month in my household.

** I'm trying a recipe for Chicken With 40 Cloves of Garlic. This is the best day ever, even for that fact alone.
