...was my big trip to Vancouver for Julia H.'s wedding, and then on to Victoria to find an apartment. In a month, I'll have been married for two years, and then in a couple of weeks after that it'll be two years since we moved here. In the autumn I'll start the third year of my PhD. And sometime in the next couple of months I'll hit my 1000th post on this blog (I'll probably reach that point somewhere around the time when this blog turns two and a half years old).
Sometimes I start measuring everything, and the passage of time overwhelms me.

Happy Anniversary to ME!!
That was a crazy weekend. And I totally forgot you got married the same summer as Julia. It feels like there's been so much more time in between now and then. Wow.
Speaking of the passage of time, I'm an old blogging friend resurfacing with a new blog. I'm delighted to see you are still posting and look forward to getting caught up.
You're back! I was just wondering what was happening with you!
And I was just thinking of you -- my favourite conference in the world (see new blog) will be in your neighbourhood next time.
Um...not sure what happened, but the link that comes up under my name goes to the Philosophy Factory. Apologies all around. The link on this post goes to my actual blog....holy crap. I am out of practice, aren't I?
Ha! You and the Philosophy Factory haven't become the same person, have you? Which would be especially weird, because I somewhat-actually-know her, too.
I'm really excited about this conference you went to, and especially because of the session on blogging that you attended.
Did I tell you that the next meeting of this conference will be at U Vic in 2009? You should think about joining us -- it is a wonderful group!
On a completely different note, I'm amused by the fact that my word verification jumble thing spells "oikforks"
That's really cool. I have no idea what I could contribute regarding the environment, but I'd really like to check it out.
Wait a minute. This just sank in. ASLE is going to be at UVic? There are a lot of bloggers that I read that go to ASLE. And they're descending on my campus? That's like ten kinds of awesome.
Yup -- it is going to be grand! I'll keep you posted as the plans firm up. You are right, there are a lot of ASLE bloggers. I met a few people this week that I had only previously known from their blogs. How cool is that?
Did you meet jo(e)? And how cool was that?
