Do you ever read a book and think to yourself, "I wish I had written that!"? I'm having that exact experience right now, while reading through Jonathan Vance's Death So Noble: Memory, Meaning, and the First World War. It's exactly the book that I wish I'd written, except for the fact that I guess I would have written it about Germany instead of Canada. Except that he draws pretty heavily from Rilla of Ingleside, and I really wish I could have written a book about Great War memory culture that draws heavily from Rilla.
How about you? What book do you wish you could have written?
