Today is the first day of several weeks in which Chris will be working from 2pm-10pm, instead of from 7am-4pm. This means that, until we go away for Christmas, our schedule is the reverse of our usual routine. I now have Chris underfoot all morning, when I'm used to doing the mass of my university work. Now, morning is the equivalent of evening: it's when we have the time to make the largest meal of the day, and it's the time that we get to spend together. It's nice waking up with him, but it's also weird making myself work in the afternoon and evening, when I'm normally slowing down. I'm still figuring out how to keep myself working at times when my body's saying, "Stop working! Take a break! Get ready for bed!"
The weird thing is that, until Christmas, we're on a schedule not unlike my undergrad and MA routine: sleeping in, working late. But Chris converted me to being a morning person and I'm not adjusting back so well.
But today's just the first day. I'm still learning. And it sure was nice having Chris drive me to seminar, and then pick me up after my allergy shot, this morning.
