How the Procrastination Household spent its Snow Day

(In bullet form)
  • Phoning friends and family members, to brag about our snow day;
  • Wearing red sweatpants;
  • Re-organising the entire household, including back closets;
  • Eliminating dust mites (this job included a thorough washing of the air purifier and the bedroom fan);
  • Wearing our alternate pairs of glasses (each of us got our glasses from a two-for-the-price-of-one shop, but only wear one of that pair);
  • Listening to Christmas music;
  • Digging out the decorations;
  • Learning how to make crème brûlée;
  • Trudging through the snow to Safeway, to buy cream to make crème brûlée (okay, Chris just did that one, but he volunteered to do so);
  • Marinating ribs all day;
  • Continually attempting to grade papers, getting frustrated, and giving up;
  • Drinking tea;
  • Making a production out of everything.

Still left on today's to do list:

  • Watching Elf;
  • Cooking the ribs;
  • More marking;
  • Hanging Christmas decorations.

Today has been a good day.

I love watching Elf with Chris! His laugh makes me laugh as hard as the movie does. Sigh. I miss you guys.

Do you have a good recipe for it? :-))))

I woke up this morning waiting for the snow in this part of the country, I guess it stayed in Vancouver.....

Hey - just found your blog through phdladybug's blog. Good to see other Canadian graduate students. Good luck with the snow - I'm sure it'll melt by the weekend.

Welcome phdladybug and psychgrad! Blogging Canadian graduate students unite!

Phdladybug: I wouldn't necessarily say I have a good recipe. The one I tried tasted too much like egg custard. I think I'll have to try a few more recipes.
