Christmas in August

Since Thursday night, I've had to keep happy news to myself, which is always a hard thing for me. But hooray! My sister has announced it and now I can talk. My sister got a full-time teaching position for next year! It sounds like a really good job, and the school is excited about her. In addition, my family (as an early Christmas present) is flying my sister here next week, so that Chris can help her brush up on her Chemistry.

Can you imagine how hard that is for me to keep in? And everyone was asking me questions like "How's Janice been doing lately?" "Is Janice coming out to visit this summer?" And I couldn't explode and say "She's here next week! She got a job!" because then the news would get out before she had a chance to tell people herself.

Congratulations, Janny! That school is getting themselves a good teacher.

In other news, I'm a big sillyhead for getting myself worked up about this meeting. Everything went fine. My prof is really nice, and we're looking at having that entire list finalised by the end of this week. We also had a fun chat about how our summers are going, because this is the same prof that would talk entertainment news with us during our class breaks.

Maybe I'm not so hopeless as I thought I was, earlier today.

Next: quick clean-up! Fondue! Houseguest this week! (Actually, the first in a string of houseguests arrives today: she'll be here until Pinelow Camp, which begins on the 7th, and then Janny arrives on the 8th. Then, it looks like her plane will leave at the exact same time as Mark & Terra's plane arrives.)
