And so I sprang into action! Finding clothes to wear! Showering! Making supper! And then she called back, and said that the grad student showed up after all. And so I went to prayer meeting.
Today, I must:
- Go get my allergy shot;
- Return some library books;
- RSVP for tonight's dessert party (for the 1st and 2nd year grad students, at the Grad Chair's house);
- Finish up tax stuff and mail it off;
- Do a bunch of laundry;
- Do some more general cleaning, because I really have no more excuses left;
- Take out the sewing machine and see how it works. (It belonged to my Grandma, and I got it when she moved in with my parents.) See what I need, before I start my sewing projects.
That all sounds very manageable today. Lovely. I think I throw in some nice things in there, like "stop in at the cheese shop and buy something, and tell them about how I'm done," and "check out that sewing shop next door." Maybe I'll take my camera along, when I go to the University, and wander around the gardens for a while.
And I end off this story with a bit of bragging:
Chris did a whole bunch to help a customer, a few days ago. This is the sort of thing that Christopher does all the time, and is the reason why many other employees' call times are shorter, because Christopher would rather make sure that he actually helps the customer. This customer was so pleased that she made up a certificate, proclaiming Chris to have solved her problem; she then e-mailed it to Chris's supervisor, and asked that said supervisor print it off and give it to Chris. The certificate now hangs in Christopher's cubicle.

Yay, Christopher! Gold stars!
Envigilate is a great word. :)
