From the CBC News: a PEI University prof offered his students a B- to skip his class, because his class size is too big. What do you think about his claim that this "Happens all the time. [He is] just upfront with it"?
And am I the only one who laughed out loud when the article mentioned that the course is a history of Christianity? (Chris thought it would be better if it was an Ethics course.)

Am I the only one who is really skeptical that this "happens all the time"? I've never heard of such a thing.
I had an undergrad biology professor that encouraged students not to come to class - he would even put his audio lectures online - but no one was ever offered a grade as an incentive. He had to come to class and lecture anyway for the few who did show up; I always wondered what was in it for him. Maybe he just didn't like lecturing to a big class.
