I'm beginning to discover the advantage of Chris working on Sunday evenings: I get a whole bunch of work done. I'm still in a mode where I get my best work done in the evenings (I have decades of conditioning that tells me that homework happens in the late afternoon and evening; it's hard working against that). And so...
Time: 7:05 pm
I am wearing: mish-mash clothes (Sunday clothes usually are, because I already made an effort earlier today, with church clothes), meaning red yoga pants (the official pants of allergy shot build-up), my purple "Just Wait Til You See Me Dance" t-shirt, burgundy fuzzy zip-up bunnyhug, rubber-soled slipper, and hair pinned back so as to not tickle my face. I'm sure I've now offended all of your sensibilities.
Tea of the evening: London Fruit & Herb Company Lemon Lime Zest. Meg gave me a bunch of flavours I'd never tried before, when I saw her last, and so I'm experimenting with them now. (Last night: Orange Spice. I highly recommend.)
Background Music: Dido, No Angel
Work Accomplished Today: I constructed a working bibliography for my European history paper (my prof liked my idea -- I'm doing the Kaiserreich's relationship with the arts community, rather than Kulturkampf -- but he wanted to make sure that it was a viable topic, from the point of view of secondary literature; sure it is!). I've also skimmed through most of Tosh. The best thing for my brain today was that I set aside the reading for a while and did some research. I'd far rather do research than this heap of reading for class discussions. I'd rather do readings for leading discussions with undergrads, for that matter. Okay, I'll stop grumbling now.
Ambience: the white lights are plugged in, which help me feel like reading. Other than that, I'm living in clutter right now. Chris keeps talking about how good tomorrow will be, because he'll spend the first part of the day washing the dishes. I don't deserve him.
The verdict of the tea: It's not bad. It's no Desert Dry Lime (by Numi), or even Orange Spice, for that matter, but it'll be good.
Welcome interruption: phone call from Karl.
