Christmas #1

We had our first family Christmas last night, because my little brother and his girlfriend's family are going to the Turks and Cacos for the rest of Christmas. It's really fun spreading out Christmas over such a long span of time. Yesterday, my mom, my sister and I made lefsa (a Norwegian dessert), and we did a bunch of present shopping.

I had a lot of fun shopping for my brother's present. Usually, he just informs each of us what we're getting him, and there are no surprises. This year, the only thing he could think of for us to get him was rather unviable, and so Janny and I got brainstorming. I ended up getting him a Caribbean vacation kit: a waterproof disposable camera (for when they go snorkelling), travel Battleship, and waterproof Uno cards! They're all excited to try to get a picture of them playing Uno underwater in the pool at the place where they're staying.

This is going to be a fun holiday: tonight I'm having supper at the home of Wee Girlie (provided her mother doesn't go into labour), and Janny and I are hanging out with the girls soon, and all sorts of things! I just got an invitation from Dr. B to get together for Kaffee und Kuchen before I leave.

It's good to be home. (And I'm not being killed by the weather, after all.)

Lefsa is not dessert. It is a potato flat bread. Of course you are the gir lwho puts chocolateon bread so I guess in that sense bread maybe is a dessert.

I eat it as dessert, and I add brown sugar to it, and so it's dessert.
