Brain Mushy: Too Much Traslating

Nothing makes me aware of my usual work habits like being forced to do an assignment in only an hour. For my most recent translation assignment, the professor had us allow ourselves only an hour, and of that, ten minutes was supposed to be spend "gisting" and the other 50 minutes spent translating. If we couldn't get the complete and accurate translation in that time, we were supposed to provide a paraphrase of the rest of the text. (He wants to know more accurately where we're at, because it's easy to translate anything over a few days, but in an hour...)

Wow! Was it hard to make myself work non-stop for an hour straight while at home. The back of my head was constantly saying "You know, you need a snack. And I wonder if anyone's e-mailed you?"

But it's done, I didn't cheat with my time, and it didn't kill me. And I've discovered that I go crazy using commas, after translating German for too long. (My brain is still in German mode.)

Now I'm going to reward myself with a shower and lunch.

Does the brain mush result in missing the letter "n" in the word "translating", or is "traslating" a term with which I am not familiar? Or did you jusd hab a code when you rode dis posd?
