There's A Man In My Attic...

...and he was supposed to be there yesterday morning!

[This post is now a few hours old, because silly Blogger keeps saying there are "errors".]

Isn't that always the way it goes? Yesterday morning, I got up early. I got dressed-ish (or at least wasn't wearing a bright blue yoga top with bright red sweatpants). I showered. I was expecting the maintenance guy to come and inspect our attic. But he never came. And then I forgot. And then, today, I was clad in the aforementioned garish outfit, playing on the computer while in bed, and my doorbell rang. Yup.

It's weird to hear someone walking above me (seeing as we live on the upper floor).

This makes me want to check out my attic sometime, too.

In other news: Meg and I have learned Schmuckie's real name! No, of course I'm not putting it here. But it's weird to know. I got a phone call yesterday, from a lady looking for him and unable to reach him on the phone. Who asked us to go and ring on their doorbell, to see if anyone was home. Weird. (They weren't home.) It's kind of disillusioning, knowing. Because it's harder to make up stuff about him.

I had many adventures yesterday. I handed in the third chapter and conclusion (!!!), and then Christopher and I went out for lunch and went shopping. We bought everything for wedding invitations and a bunch of stuff about flowers. It's good to have that figured out. My newest amusement is looking up invitation wordings. I'm having trouble finding a halfway point between "Your presence is cordially requested at the marriage of..." and "As flowers bloom among the butterflies and we walk down the path of life and other cliches, I marry my best friend and we shall celebrate our love with blabbidy blah." Yeah.

Any suggestions? (Chris and my father were coming up with "clever" ideas. Such as having the invitations arrive blank, to be read with decoder glasses or after you immerse it in a solution. If you get the solution correct, you've passed the test and can come to the wedding. Apparently.)

So, I'm hiding out in my room right now, not sure how to entertain myself until Attic Man leaves. At least it's April Fool's Day, meaning that lots of websites have silly things going on.

Chris wants to do WHAT?

You could always go with Kate's announcement: Maryanne and Chris, soon to be living in significantly less sin...

Just kidding. Sorry about the couch thing yesterday. Hope you had a good snugglefest.

Clarification: Meg's "Chris wants to do WHAT?" is in reference to the invitations.

Just clarifying. Do you know what's hard? Typing on a regular keyboard when you're used to a swished notebook computer one. It's not quite "keyboard where they speak another language and therefore the keys are in different places" (France, I'm looking at you), but it's still awkward.

Oh no! His real name is super funny too, although quite a mouthful. I think we'll stick to schmuckie for convenience.

Ky, that is an excellent suggestion. I declare you a genius. Maryanne, congratulations! You rock! Love, Ari.

p.s. Did I mention I love your Dad and Chris? Although I would have issues if someone wanted to do that to my wedding invites...
