Taking a Break...

Time: 1:54pm

I am wearing: unfortunately, the same clothes as yesterday (red sweatpants and a Banff t-shirt), with a green fuzzy zip-up bunnyhug over top. I haven't gotten dressed for the day yet. Oh yes, with pigtails and rubber-soled slippers.

Page Count: Nearly 50 pages! And I know exactly what I'm doing with the next five paragraphs.

Word Count: 12 973

To keep up momentum: I've been making sure I eat properly today. My snack this afternoon was an apple filled with peanut butter.

I am amused by: Meg working under the kitchen table, and the emaciated (because melting) snowman on my balcony.

I am currently trying to ignore: the ridiculous mess that is my house.

I am currently anticipating: whenever I hand everything in to Dr. B tomorrow, because then I'm going to go crazy with the cleaning.

I panicked today because: I couldn't find a really important book. After tearing my house apart, it turned out to be under my chair.

Today I have talked to: Meg, and my mommy. Oh yes, and the lady from Globe Fabrics. (The fabric is here!!! Now I need to go and pay for it. Yuck.)

I wish I was: outside.

I am now anticipating: the walk that Meg and I are going to take, when we're ready for a real break.

I am pleased with myself: because I discussed the ties between Mother's Day and far-right extremism in the 1920s and 1930s. It's almost as pleasing as when I drew a direct line between the popularity of Shirley Temple and Frank Capra movies to the rise of Hitler. Actually, it's the same discussion, except this time I'm not talking about the 1939 Royal Visit to Canada. (My most favourite paper I ever wrote.) I think there's something wrong with me.

I'm troubled about myself: Because I took this quiz, and was right 8 times out of 10 as to which were serial killers and which were computer programming language inventors. Meg was seriously frightened by how excited I was, every time I correctly identified a serial killer.

Schmukie's mood today: shouty and door-slammy. But he's quietened significantly. I think the last door slam was him going outside.

Now the time is: 2:09 pm
