All is calm, all is bright

It's been a long and busy day, and our house wasn't always so peaceful as it is now.

It was a busy day of errands, shopping, sharing in my family's Christmas celebration via Skype, cooking and preparing for house guests.  And then it was mayhem for a while after they arrived, because Andrew and Uncle Chris were so thrilled to be together again.  But then we ate rice porridge (I got the almond!) and cheese ball, lit candles, drank hot chocolate,* read the first part of the Christmas story by the light of the tree and the candles, and now Andrew's asleep (and eagerly awaiting Santa) and Meg and Karl are at midnight mass.

Merry Christmas, you guys.

* Really really real hot chocolate, with just melted chocolate, milk and whipping cream.  And flavoured with cinnamon and cloves.
