Now that things are quiet

  • My sister went home yesterday. We had a good week together.
  • I bought a leather loveseat yesterday! (From usedvictoria.com) We went and brought it home, and then spent an hour figuring out how to get the futon into our narrow office/spare bedroom. But now we have a double bed (futon) in the spare room, rather than the wee single bed, and I have somewhere comfortable to sit in the living room.
  • Except for the fact that we went from having a futon that sat four to a loveseat that seats two. It fits far better in our World's Tiniest Living Room, but we're going to have to figure out where to put others who come to visit us.
  • Chris also convinced me that we had to go and upgrade our cellphones, because our three year contract is now up and we qualify for new free phones. We got the upgraded version of the phones we have (but now with cameras and music players, which is what Chris was so anxious for), but Bell has taken its sweet time switching over our phones. They still don't work. But I have a pink phone! (I confess.)
  • I'm covered in painful bruises on my arms and legs because of falling while mini-golfing. Which is possibly dumber than the time I injured my neck while studying. My arms were so puffy, purple and throbby that I had to take Advil before I could play the piano in church.
  • I love Murchies's No. 22 blend tea. I also love the fact that the new Murchies site gives you the history of the company and their tea blends. (One of their teas was commissioned by Queen Victoria!)
  • I'm experimenting with cutting back on the SAD lamp, now that it's May. I'm making big plans of curling up in a sunbeam and reading a book, and seeing if that helps.
  • But I've already had to drink an entire pot of tea, to stay functional.
Update: My pink phone now works! I called Bell and it turns out that the guys in the store programmed them wrong. (Hilariously, they programmed Chris's number in my pink phone.)

We have a rather compact / crowded living room... and I decided that I want some chairs like my favorie sushi place uses in the 'sit on the floor' room :).

Imagine a seat and back of a traditional chair, but no arms. You put a cushion on the seat and lean back -- they are really comfortable and when not in use, can be stacked in a closet. We were really comfortable during a longish sushi dinner -- so they'd be good for a meal around the coffee table or for the length of a movie.

Only you could get a mini-golf injury. You are magical.

I'm in love with Murchie's Library Tea. It is one of the things that make me look forward to living on the west coast.

Is it wrong of me to want to see a video of you playing mini-golf?

jo(e): I wish there was video of me mini-golfing. The mini-golf place was the coolest ever: there was a waterfall coming out of a castle, and we golf under the waterfall.

Sadly, my mini-golf injuries had nothing to do with playing any sort of full-contact mini-golf, and had more to do with the fact that it had been raining, the ground was slippery, and I'm the clumsiest person ever. I fell down a hill and landed hard on a brick border. I think some of the bruises are from my golf club landing on me, too.

Ky: I am indeed magical.
