Pleasantness

Today I was at the university. I took along a stack of cue cards and marveled at how well I knew each book as I looked at the cue card. I think I'm going to be fine next week.

Then I went to the Student Union Building's copy centre and bought myself some office supply treats: two wonderful pens (because I used up all my good pens while writing notes) and every possible colour of highlighters. Holding my handful of shiny new pens, I felt rich. I've now set to work, highlighting key words in pink.

Now I'm home, and I'm going to take a break this evening. A new friend, who apparently lives a few blocks away, is coming over to watch the Battlestar Galactica premiere. She's bringing chocolate.

Also, my mother sent me this family picture from 1985, and it keeps making me smile:

Seriously: I was a set of glasses away from looking like Cousin Oliver. And my brother's Mr. Rogers sweater never fails to crack me up. (Not to mention my mother's hair...)

How about that your father still had hair!

I think my favourite part is the background. Like you guys were just mystically hovering in the sky in front of a forrest.

Dad: I was going to mention that...

Ky: I was trying to figure out what that was. It must have taken a lot of work to make us do that.

Ah, 1985. Good times.

Little know fact about that picture: I had a huge gash above my left eyebrow. A friend's older brother threw a rock at me (not to be confused with the time I had a huge bruise on my head from getting hit by a hockey puck when I was in kindergarten). Even with my bangs over my forehead, I had to be turned away from the camera.

In other words, I do not look back at the picture so fondly.

Big c: how would you know? You were only alive for the last 23 days of it.

Exactly. You old, woman!

I like that Mike looks like one of the chipmunks.
