Sleepy blogging

We had a gong show of a day yesterday, and so in lieu of writing out everything that happened, I'm going to lazily copy-and-paste the e-mail I sent Chris and my families last night after midnight. Please excuse the oddly-written parts; I'd just spent fourteen and a half hours in the car:
"Hey, family types!
We just got home from our trip to Spokane, and I thought I'd tell you all that we got home on time and safely. The trip home was pretty hectic. Thanks to the combination of bad storms and the end of a long weekend:
a.) we had a stressful drive through the mountains (rain, wind*, snow, traffic)
b.) followed by traffic jams near Seattle
c.) followed by a 2 1/2-hour wait at the Peace Arch border crossing (we were stubborn and crossed at Peace Arch. Vic and Barb crossed near Abbotsford -- which we thought was crazy, because then you'd have to drive all the way through Vancouver -- and they took about an hour and a half less time than we did)
d.) followed by a mad dash to the ferry to catch what was supposed to be the last sailing of the night. We had reserved for the 9pm ferry, and had to be there by 8:30pm or else our reservation would be given away and we'd be in trouble. We checked in at exactly 8:30. (They did add an 11pm sailing, thanks to the fact that several of the day's sailings had been canceled for the bad weather, but we're glad that we're home now and not two hours from now.)
We're very thankful that God kept us safe and punctual.
In other news, Chris is the proud owner of a ticket for the Western Final. Main level, Visiting Team side. He is very excited.
Love you all,
From a sleepy Maryanne and an even sleepier Christopher, who managed to finish his report cards on the ferry home."
* Seriously, a wind gust nearly pushed us into a median, just when we got onto a bridge to cross the Columbia River.

Yay Abbotsford! Seriously, it only takes about 5 minutes to cross there. Then you jump onto Huntingdon and go to Zero ave and cruise to the 99. Soooo much faster than taking Peace Arch. Even Douglas Crossing (truck crossing at 176th Street) is faster than Peace Arch.
