Confessions of one who watches too much HGTV

I absolutely love the Kirstie and Phil/BBC4-created home-buyer shows Relocation Relocation and Location, Location, Location. I can't get enough of these shows, between seeing what British people are looking for in houses, looking at all the British country houses, Kirstie's puffy skirts, Phil's tweed coats, and the fun dynamic between Phil and Kirstie. (Today she referred to him as "Mr. Clevertoes.")

Okay, to be honest, I especially love the show for how smug Phil gets when he's right, and for how Kirstie Takes It Personally when buyers are too negative don't see a house's potential, and especially when she ends up scolding them until they cry. And for those moments when they talk behind the buyer's backs, even whispering to the camera.

In somewhat-related news, my husband is the cutest ever when he watches commercials. Certain commercials make him so happy that he either hugs himself or dances along with the music. And there is very little in this world that is cuter than Chris dancing along with the music in commercials.

Omg! I love those shows too! They are hilarious, but verra useful for learning about the real estate market.

Btw, I thought you would appreciate this: Lee and I bought Settlers of Catan. We played it tonight, and we LOVED it!

I love, love, love those shows, too! Did you watch the episode where Kirsty had that HUGE puffy black coat to go "up north" with?

Also interesting is Selling Houses, in which the host (can't remember his name) goes into homes and tells them how awful their decor is and that's why their house hasn't sold. Then he totally makes it look fabulous on teensy budgets.

HGTV....such a guilty pleasure.

I love Selling Houses! I especially love Selling Houses Abroad, where British people have been unsuccessfully trying to sell houses in Spain, and it turns out that their houses are really badly decorated and are priced too high.

Okay, I need to see Kirstie wearing the puffy black coat for going north. Fantastic. I love her clothes.
