I'm THAT historian

Andrea, if you're reading this, I apologise right now.

I confess that I wandered around the office today in bare feet. I was wearing flipflops, and then while I was reading I tucked my feet underneath me and ended up taking off the sandals so that I could do that more comfortably. And then wandered out into the common room to make a random statement and realised (as someone casually glanced down at my feet) that I hadn't put my sandals back on.

Wacky clothes and shoelessness: I've become just like my eccentric history profs back at my alma mater. (And, really, just like the author and the English professor in Stranger Than Fiction. Is there some kind of stereotype about the humanities and shoelessness?)

(But I've put them back on, Andy!)

Oh no! They've gotten to you! Don't worry, we can still fix this and rescue you from the pit of female historian fashion. At least you aren't wearing Elizabethan ruff necks yet.

The cure: retail therapy. ;)

Andrea, if your biggest worry is my fashion and not the fact that my bare feet touched our office floor, I think I'm okay.

Bare feet touching office floor is good with me. I've done it a number of times. ;) But walking around with no shoes is typical absent-minded professor behaviour. ;) We have to find you something so pretty that you just refuse to take them off.

Hey -- I almost exclusively wear Birkenstocks and often take them off in my office and end up wandering the halls in bare feet or stocking footed...

does that make me THAT philosopher?

I kind of think it does... oh my.
