I may have been a little over-enthusiastic when I got the call...

Chris got offered the teaching job!

The school's principal called me here. And I confess that I may have cheered when she said that they were giving him the job. And then I had to stop myself and say, "Oh, I should probably let Chris talk with you about this, shouldn't I? How about I give you his work number?"

Well, they sure aren't going to have any doubts about whether we want Chris working there.

Maryanne,
Congratulations to you and Chris. He will be thrilled to be back into the classroom. It alos menas easier to get a couple of weeks off during the summer and definitely able to get Christmas off. Unfortunately, you also only get to travel during the "high seasons"
Anyway as my family english expert, I have a question for you. I cut down all of the weeds near the fence and edge of the lawn using my "Weed-Eater". So when I describe this to someone do I say that I "Weed-Eated" or "Weed-Ate" them or what. Maybe I should just buy a "weed-Whacker" and than I can say that I "Weed-Whacked" them. Also is the plural to a computer mouse (ie 2 of them), computer mice?

Father-in-law,

I believe that you actually say "mouses" when you refer to the plural of "computer mouse."

As someone who regularly likes to say things nonsensically, I'd say that I "Weed-Eatered" the lawn. As the family's English expert I'd say that "I used the Weed-Eater on the yard."

And thanks for the congratulations! The nice thing is also that Chris will get a spring break, which will happen at a different time from all the university spring breaks, and so he'll be able to go to Saskatchewan for cheaper then.
