Last night, I made Chris promise that he'd force me to get out of bed when he left. I figured that shouldn't be too hard, considering how much sleep I'll have gotten by then. It was awful. I ended up needing to sleep an extra hour. And then, on my nine hours of sleep, I got up all bleary-eyed and exhausted. It was really dark today, and it's been cloudy for several days now. There wasn't really any difference in light when the sun rose. And so it hit noon, and I was still a zombie, in spite of the fact that I showered and dressed up early, had lots of breakfast and caffeine, and kept myself really active (I did three loads of laundry). But I continually felt like it was 6:00 in the morning, after staying up way past midnight.
I got work done, but I also zoned out a lot. It helped that I went for a walk, but that didn't keep me all day. I had a big meltdown this evening when I realised how little work I did today.
Seriously, am I the only one who doesn't notice things? Chris had to point out, when I was a sobbing heap on the floor, that I'm only like this on the days when it's cloudy in the morning, especially when it gets later in the year and the sun comes up later.
So, we're in the market for one of those lamps that lights up the room slowly or something. Tell me if you have any leads, or other hints for prairie (home of lots and lots of sun) girls who move to the "Wet Coast."

I had a friend who used one, and apparentely it was a good thing for him. Considering he doesn't get up before 13:00!
The shorter days are hard to cope with. But try to get as much natural light as you can when the sun is out. it's better than nothing... Good luck!
