But first, another meme...

What's with me and the memes lately? But I like this one, which I've been seeing all over:

Here are the rules set by AAYOR: " 'If I were designing a [my blog title/pseud here] Halloween costume, it would consist of...' [My Rule: Try to choose something representative rather than your most stylish/most interesting/most h.o.t. outfit]."

If I were designing a Queen of West Procrastination Halloween Costume, it would consist of:
- tight red yoga pants sweatpants (alternately: either black or army green capris)
- black Chat Noir t-shirt
- some sort of zip-up bunnyhug
- black rubber-soled slippers
- a tiara

Accessories (included):
- your choice of blonde pigtails or cut-short fire-engine-red hair
- dark-rimmed glasses
- a big pot of tea (loose-leaf, made in a Bodum tea press)
- a watch and wedding ring, both of which will sit on the desk beside you (I obsessively remove jewelry and leave it places)
- mascara
- a rickety Dell notebook computer
- a selection of expensive pens
- a Batman cape

How about you?

Thank you kindly. I wrote most of my MA thesis wearing one. (Sadly, it belonged to my roommate, and now I don't have one. Note to self: buy a tiara.)

Welcome, trauma queen!

Two answer your first question, here's Wikipedia's definition of "meme," in terms of cultural transmission, but it's used here, as it's used popularly, to describe Internet phenomena.

Two answer your second question, as a teenager I was fascinated by the campiness of the 1960s Batman TV show, and I tend to collect paraphenalia associated with Batman. My old roommate gave me a fleece Batman cape that doubles as a blanket as a thank-you present, and I tend to wear it when I'm trying to work.

I have a tiara. I wear it around my classroom sometimes, and then I forget to take it off and roam the school and people look at me strangely.

You can have one of Pooky Bear's Tiaras. I told her you needed one, so she said you can have one of hers!

Ha! Of course she'd come through. (By the way: Pooky Bear to crazy mom = Wee Girlie to the Queen of West Procrastination.)

And B, do you think your kid got her delusions of royalty from me? I have strong suspicions. Especially because I also gave her my childhood queen robe.
