My Newest Challenge

I can't believe it: the June trip to Saskatchewan is over, the Honeymooners' visit ended yesterday, and now on Tuesday we're heading back to Saskatchewan! This means that I am currently obsessed with figuring out how to fly across the country with enough for: a.) our annual church camp (including lots of dress clothes, my Bible and song books, and hopefully my flute), b.) our family's camping trip (including our new tent, and whatever bits of camping gear I can shove in our suitcases), and c.) sundry family and friend visiting across Saskatchewan. Right there you have three different occassions where I used to pack so much it filled my car. All limited to two pieces of checked luggage and two carry-on items each.

Two of those four pieces of checked luggage will be: a tent and a garment bag.

Here are items that I will attempt to pack, should I find room in the two suitcases (a lot of Chris's clothes will be split between the garment bag and the small duffel bag he'll carry on):
  • my flute
  • some camping gear (camping dishes? maybe a raincoat, too?)
  • a small fan for our room at Camp
  • my laptop (okay, so that's coming for sure)
  • a closet organiser
  • a photo album
  • a couple of my comps books

Here are items that I considered bringing and have rejected (mostly because we'll borrow these sorts of things in Sask): bedding for Camp and camping, our camp stove, our new air mattress. Yes, I was seriously considering fitting an air mattress into one of our two suitcases.

In other news, I've gotten shockingly little comps work done lately. But I have read both The Devil Wears Prada and The Undomestic Goddess, the latter of which I borrowed from Meg yesterday. And finished yesterday. (Ahem, and my husband also read the former. Last night, we were both sitting in bed reading chick lit. Our brains are officially mush. Chris has received a lot of harassment from his co-workers.)
