Defending the World from Comps Reading and Laundry

I am currently wearing my thank-you present from Meg and Karl: a fleece Batman blanket that doubles as a cape! They also gave me a Giant Pixie Stick, which I'm currently consuming. (And an Elastigirl Pez Dispenser. I've enjoyed offering people candy from Elastigirl's throat.)

The first words that came out my my mouth, when I discovered it was a cape: "I am SO wearing this to write my dissertation!" But first, I'm going to wear it to conquer the Mountain of Laundry that awaited me when I got home. (Apparently when Chris reassures me that he's been "keeping up on laundry" in my absence, it means "One time, a week and a half ago, I did a load of laundry. But I forgot to wash socks and underwear. But I totally washed a couple of pairs of pants! A week and a half ago.")

Batman cape and Pixie Stick sugar to the rescue...

You rock. Do you think it would be gauche for me to turn in my dissertation to Grad Studies while wearing a Wonder Woman costume and wig?

Do it! Do it! It'll keep you from being intimidated. Or make you really self-conscious. You know.

J's the same way-- before we bought the house, his idea of doing laundry was washing whatever was necessary for him to have something to wear the next day.
2 pairs of socks, a shirt, some pants, and voila! laundry was done. No wonder he was always doing laundry!

I love you and Chris so much it hurts. And that bridesmaid gift was totally awesome.
