I think this is the first time I've stopped since I got here. A week ago. Here are some highlight's from this week's adventures, thus far (with still the weekend wedding ahead of us). All of these highlights illustrate how strangely "girly" I can be at times:
1. I've spent a bunch of time with all the new moms and new babies that have been born since I left.
2. Yesterday, I put Jelly Bellies into 136 origami gift bags. Single-handedly. And this involved some re-folding as well, especially since I had to open the bags to put the Jelly Bellies in. This didn't take as long as that sounds.
3. I have been doing a lot of singing. On Sunday, when Uncle Travelling Matt got baptized, my Dad had me help him lead the singing in church. And then some of us sang a couple of trios. And now we've been practising songs we're singing at the wedding.
4. I helped Becca throw a wedding shower for Meg, at Meg's church. There were nearly 40 women there! I bought roses for all of them.
A lot of talking, a lot of praying, a lot of singing, a lot of holding babies, a lot of lunching and suppering with friends, a lot of people coming over to visit, and a lot of talk about wedding presents. It's entirely different from how I normally conduct my life, and I haven't had nearly enough sleep this week, but it has been good.
Now I leave you with some pictures, all of small children:
One of the new babies (one who will be visiting me in Victoria, later this summer) discovers roses:

Here we have the Wee Girly, dressed as a princess (she wanted to dress up for my visit) and showing me her My Little Pony boardgame. She's having some trouble with the whole "Auntie Mary lives far away and I don't get to see her for months at a time" thing. After I visited her, I had to call her the next day and reassure her that I was still in the city and that she would see me again. And that I still love her very much. She had been very upset (she woke up when she heard me leave, and then wouldn't go to sleep again, because she was sure she'd never see me again). We're working on this.

And now, introducing WG's little sister, who is clearly part Cabbage Patch doll.

That baby is the CUTEST thing ever. I want to eat her.
Hmmm...refolding little origami bags huh? I am still curious to know why we had to fold them closed the entire way since we weren't putting Jelly Bellies in until later. I did see the point but I think they could have survived just being left open. I am blaming Meg for any difficulties you had. Please do not blame me - I was under strict demands to complete the entire box.
It was nice to meet you on Sunday. I am sure we will chat more on Saturday.
It wasn't too bad. Mostly I was just evening things out and making them uniform.
Awww, great photos. :)
So happy that you're having a wonderful time...Enjoy!
