Blink. Blink blink.
I intended to go out this afternoon. Jen's grandpa's birthday is tomorrow, and the church old people were getting together to celebrate. However, certain old ladies around me in church were wearing very strong perfume (as in: so strong that Chris's eyes were pokey and HE was getting a headache). And so I needed to come home and nap.
And then I didn't wake up until after 5:00pm. I officially skipped the afternoon; it's dark outside and I only got a few waking hours of daylight.
Add too this surrealness:
a.) the fact that I awoke from a very vivid dream of cross-country skiing up in Park Valley (where my mother's side of the family lives) with my grandmother. The snow was so brilliantly white, and Grandma was skiing pretty well, for a woman who needs a cane. The dream was so happy, and awaking was a big disappointment. Especially waking up to discover that it was dark outside.
b.) the fact that I take forever to de-groggify after long naps. My brother and I used to take three-hour naps, and then laugh ourselves stupid with our incoherent conversations afterward. I have no "instant awake" switch, like my husband has. Mine is more a "now that her eyes are open, please wait an hour and a half until she's fully functioning" switch. Seriously, this post is taking forever to write, and I keep going back and catching really silly mistakes.

Ha! Grandma playing volleyball? That's the best ever!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!!!
(Yes, I do realize he won't see this, but I still feel a need to celebrate in some fashion other than going back to school...)
You remember Mary, the dream where after the game mom told me she was Wayne U's twin.
Ha! I forgot!
