On November 23rd, Lynne Truss is giving a talk in Victoria about her latest book! I'm so excited, I'm wiggling! I love this city.
(Chris keeps threatening to make me a t-shirt proclaiming me to be a grammar commando or something. I'm trying to explain to him that there's a difference between a geeky literary fan and a Trekkie. Thoughts?)

Oh, I love Lynne Truss' books, plus she lives not very far away from me...She's one of our local heroes here. :)
I'm going to cry. I am so immensely jealous. Do you think there's any way I could fly out to Victoria for that weekend???
Grammar is real. Star Trek is not. 'Nuff said. That said, there's no difference between being an Austen junkie and a Trekkie. Your grammar obsession is like Chris and his geeky science stuff. You experiment with words, he with explosive chemicals. So speaketh Derek.
Derek out.
You know, Ky, you will be on the West Coast the weekend BEFORE that... (Subtext: who needs that half week of classes?)
Oh my goodness, I just read the write-up about her book, and I am almost bursting with excitement. I need to read her book. And you'll be seeing her on my birthday - I think it's fate.
Maryanne, seriously, don't tempt me!!
I bought my tickets. And at first they gave me tickets to "An Evening with Rick Stevens," and I was like, I asked for Lynne Truss! I am not spending an evening with Rick Stevens!
And I keep avoiding buying her new book, because really, shouldn't someone be getting that for me for my birthday or Christmas or something?
Now I'm so jealous. I loved Eats shoots and leaves!
You need to correct Chris: you are a Grammar Ninja not Grammar Commando. Learn the difference Chris!
