If praying is the sort of thing you do, please pray for Wee Girlie's parents, but especially for her father, Chad. Brandy (WG's mom) called me last night to tell me that Chad was in the hospital. It's all very strange, because he has appendicitis, but more urgently he's experienced "significant kidney failure" (the doctor's words). There are a whole bunch of symptoms that don't seem to fit together, but are all very serious and are all at once. This is especially hard because Brandy's been in and out of the hospital herself, as she's going through a really rough pregnancy. She was in the hospital over Thanksgiving, because her own kidneys were overacting. Now her blood pressure is really low and she keeps fainting.
Brandy and I had a good long talk last night; it's so difficult to be away from home when they're going through a time like this. I'm used to being the first one visiting at the hospital, bringing everything that they need (or at least a deck of cards and cheerful conversation to keep them distracted). I'm used to being available to help during crises like this. But I'm here on the island and all I can do is pray.

I really hope things begin to get better for them soon. And, I'm sorry that you can't be at home right now. I know how difficult that can be, but I'm sure they still appreciate all the support and prayers that you can give them from afar. Take care.
Thanks, Pink.
remember that prayer is our first response to anything, and our best one- you are doing the best thing possible. I love you Mary, and my thoughts are with you, Brandy, Chad and wee girlie.

What a distressing thing! I hope things get better with a quickness.
