- I faxed a rush request for a new birth certificate for Chris. Apparently his was wrecked, or lost or something, and we need it to get into the US, this weekend.
- I went to the history office, to help look for a missing letter of appraisal from my old department head. Remember how he phoned me, just before he mailed the letter? It never arrived. Crazy postal service. Thankfully, he's faxing another copy, and then sending it in the mail (they need an original signature, but for the departmental evaluation stuff, they just need a copy).
- I'm glad that I searched the office, because the departmental secretary suggested that I check the MA mailbox, in case someone put anything in there for me (instead of in the PhD mailbox), and that letter wasn't there, but there was a notice for me that I won a scholarship! Apparently I won a merit award, which will cover next semester's tuition (they apply it to tuition first, and then pay out the rest, but that's cool, because that means I'll get paid out my regular Fellowship). Yay, more money!
I'd say I've had a pretty productive morning: getting Chris's birth certificate, ironing out all the SSHRC wrinkles and winning a scholarship. Now I should start organising the laundry, and make sure that I wash everything we need for Pinelow. But what I want to do is finish watching Citizen Kane. (For some reason, the lack of DVD player makes me watch VHS movies like crazy.)

Don't worry about the birth certificate too badly- I've never been asked for it. Once they didn't even look at my drivers lisence. Actually, I've always found it harder to get back into Canada...
See you at Pinelow!
