First Day of School

Let the procrastination begin!

And, judging from the sixty-seven hits so far today, I'd say that everyone else is spending the first day of school celebrating the art of procrastination. Except for Karl, who has probably already started and revised two of his papers. (That was Chris's zinger, and I thought I'd leave it in.)

Speaking of procrastination (but hardly at all), does anyone else sense the injustice of the fact that way cooler stuff is happening in Regina, now that I'm gone? First they go and have a fireworks show even better than the mind-numbing Canada Day show, and now Bif Naked's playing the Academic Green at UofR tomorrow! And they're even cancelling some of their classes! (I'm amused by the general e-mail sent out by Student Affairs, mentioning that not ALL classes are cancelled tomorrow afternoon, and if you must choose between classes and the concert, please go to classes!) All we ever got was free hamburgers, if you pretended to be a Campion College student.

On another note, I visited that little cheese shop again, after a walk to the ocean, and I got to show the girls at the shop my war-wound from after the last time I bought cheese there. You can all breathe easier now: I got my roast garlic harvarti pre-sliced this time. The girl at the counter (who actually recognised us from our last visit) has also visited that same emergency room as a result of a cheese knife injury. She also waited four hours, but she insisted on stitches when they were going to just tape it, and she has less of a scar as a result.

At least this scar on my finger was for the sake of good cheese. Mm. That smoked pepper gouda was amazing.

Now it's time for me to prepare myself for my first day of classes, which will commence tomorrow. (I have no Wednesday classes.) Okay, so all I have is an hour and a half German class which I'm auditing and then a meeting with Dr. Supervisor. And I don't start until 1:00pm. But still: What shall I wear? What kind of lunch will I have? Do I even have a notebook for writing? Will it be okay if I don't have the textbook yet? This is stress that needs some procrastination! And I am the woman for that job.

All my professors either took all the time or went five minutes over in my first classes. Now let us step back and examine the likelyhood of them actually knowing who Bif Naked is and what she is doing here. Um...is there a percent less than 0??

But it's okay because I find all my classes quite funny.

Oh, well, back to my reading (non-school).

My first day back went well. I and two other of the TAs were not notified of a classroom change, so we sat in a half-empty classroom (about 20 students were not notified either) for like 15 minutes. Talk about losing credibility early on.

cramsey, you find everything funny - not just your classes.

Mmm... cheese shops. I just heard about a local place here that has cheese/wine/bread. That is the perfect store. Now I just need to find time to visit it. Happy healing!

Well, I take it that "anonymous" does not share my opinion about the hillarity of math.

By the way the book was an autobiography of Chesterton (also very funny).

Well, my day back was better than Ky's. I always had the right classroom, at least.

Ok, it's thursday, and I've checked your blog like 19 times for more help with procrastination.
But no new post. You're killing me. It's making me believe that you're getting work done, and therefore it is adding to my already gargantuous ball of guilt.

Ky, I apologise for my whole day absence! Actually, I spent the morning with problems with my router, and therefore not being able to access the internet (Chris fixed it while I was gone), and then I went to class! Wow. I went to school.

And Kristie, you'd love my local delicatessan and cheese shop. It's only a couple of blocks from my house, and it has everything! Chris and I are trying to buy a different two cheeses each time we go, but now I'm started to be tempted to try out their crazy breads, too. I also got a good tzaziki this time.

And cramsey! Hooray! It took me a long time to figure out "cramsey." Because I am dense. Oh: Chris Ramsey. Wow.

Well, I suppose cramsey could have been my grandfather or perhaps just some stalker, but in all likelyhood I am me or so that is what I tell myself.

Personally, I would not trust me. So don't take my word for it!

Who is Bif Naked, and why is she at the university of Regina? And Chris, you're crazy.

I meant Chris Ramsey, not Christopher. Although that statement would be equally true either way.

She is some chick from Vancouver and was plying a concert put on by URSU.

And Meg does a good dance to her song "I Love Myself Today."
