Today, according to Sitemeter, someone found me with the search terms "how procrastination can be avoided." Well, you've got me.
I'm going to return to my old fill-in-the-blanks format for a while:
I am wearing: red yoga pants and my black stretchy exercise shirt. No socks or shoes.
Today I have eaten: honeydew melon and Corn Bran with Silk soy milk. I'm being fairly careful right now, because I had a pretty bad reaction to something I ate yesterday.
Today I have accomplished: Well? I e-mailed a German prof to see if I can audit his class. And I read a few more pages of In 1926. Does bathing count? I did that.
I am currently procrastinating from: Finishing In 1926, going for a walk/jog, drying my hair, putting the dishes away after my brunch, dealing with the recycling that is in a pile on the floor, re-reading my thesis and figuring out what preparing I should do for the defense... Oh! And returning phone calls and e-mails. There are quite a few that I still need to do.
Song stuck in my head: "Millennium" by Robbie Williams. I have no idea. I think it has something to do with that meme that's going around about music that came out when you graduated (although this came out the year after), my current fixation on the 1990s, and the conversation I had with Derek last night about suddenly discovering that you know all the words to a song you never really paid attention to at the time it was being overplayed, the example being "Wanna Be" by the Spice Girls. I put a lot of thought into things like this. What do you expect?
So, new reader, I don't know that I have any answers for you. But you might be amused in my adventures in not avoiding procrastination!

Time for a new meme: Let's make a list of the songs that everyone knows, but no one knows they know. "Millennium" and "Wannabe" would be on that list, as would "Philadelphia Freedom", or in fact any 70s Elton John, and Supertramp's "Logical Song." Any additions?
Derek out.
Okay, I don't know "Philadelphia Freedom" or "Logical Song."
But:
- The opening rap from Fresh Prince.
- At least the first verse of "With a Little Help From My Friends." (As a result of the Wonder Years.)
- Captain Planet. (Gonna take polution down to zero!)
- Safety Dance.
What else?
But actually, I agree about Elton John. You just know, even if you don't realise it.
Millenium? Pshaw! Excellent song.
I agree with Mary about Saftey Dance. also I think we should include that song about microwave ovens. I hate that song.
I would like everyone to stop using the word "meme" as frequently as they do. And I really think Maryanne should be banned from any sharp implements. It can only lead to trouble.
I should not read statements from Matt so quickly. I read "stope using the word meme" "Maryanne" and "sharp objects" and thought you were threatening me. But I agree that I should be banned from sharp objects. Horrible fear of them anyway.
